Ampera bridge is the famous landmark of the Palembang city. It connects Seberang Ulu and Seberang Ilir, two regions of Palembang (wikipedia). This bridge across the musi river which is also the landmark of the city.
When I was in Palembang, the area under the bridge is very dirty and muddy. Government has not set up this area. This area was very dangerous, everyone was afraid to come here. But that was before, now this area is became a place where peoples togather here to relaxing and enjoying the view of Ampera bridge and the fresh breeze from muddy river Musi. People called this area 'Benteng Kuto Besak' area because in front of the river there is a big fort which is build at the time of Palembang sultanate in a war againts VOC.
